Native New Yorker Ricky Ian Gordon returns to American Songbook after his thrilling 2001 presentation of Bright Eyed Joy, which garnered him comparisons to Leonard Bernstein and Stephen Sondheim. Gordon’s music has been performed by legendary vocalists including Renée Fleming, Dawn Upshaw, Lorraine Hunt Lieberson, Kelli O’Hara, Audra McDonald, Harolyn Blackwell, Judy Collins, and Betty Buckley, among many others. Gordon shares his deeply felt theatrical song cycle Green Sneakers, composed after the death of his lover from AIDS, which premiered to great acclaim at the Bravo! Vail Valley Music Festival. Gordon is joined by Jesse Blumberg and Voxare String Quartet.
