tUnE-yArDs is the experimental folk project led by Merrill Garbus, one of the most original artists ever to be presented in The Allen Room. Trained in the theater and transformed by a visit to Africa, Merrill has spun a patchwork of surprising rhythms and eloquent vocal techniques into threads of personal empowerment and life-affirming zeal.
